MFuge 2009 Information



Where: Mississippi College Clinton, MS
When: June 28-July 3
Cost: $300 - Due April 28 by the Church for all attendees (Non-Refundable)

FAQ:
What are the ages for M-Fuge?
Rising 7th graders (i.e., graduated 6th graders) through graduated 12th graders.

Do we have a "night off" this year at M-Fuge?
Yes, this year the night off in the city is back. Thursday night you will have extended free time. After returning from site at 3:00pm, you will be free to take your group into the city for dinner and sight-seeing. Worship will start back on campus at 9:00pm. If you choose to stay on campus during this extended free time, dinner will be available for you.

How many adults should we bring?
1 adult for every 5 students (gender specific).

Is M-Fuge able to accommodate a camper with special needs?
We will do our best to work with our staff and facility staff to make the necessary accommodations for students with special needs. Call the FUGE Office toll free at 1-877-CAMP123 or e-mail your question to fuge@lifeway.com.

Is there anybody else on campus while we are there?
Sure. Although we will take up most of the housing at each camp location there are other visitors to the campuses, conference centers, and resorts you attend.

Who will be the camp pastor and worship leader/band at the location my group will be attending?
This information can be found on the the speakers and worship leaders page.

What is the dress code for M-Fuge?
Please ask your students not to pack anything that:
Advertises alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs
Explicitly or implicitly promotes racism, sexism, or hatred of any group or person
Explicitly or implicitly refers to sexual actions or situations
Has spaghetti straps, except for sleepwear
Is excessively short or tight fitting While at camp, we ask that students and adults:
Wear modest, one-piece bathing suits or two piece suits covered with a colored T-shirt.
Wear modest shorts, dresses, slacks, and jeans for worship. Long pants or knee-length skirts are required for on-stage performances.
Don't dress in a way that calls attention to their underwear (sagging your pants, rolling down your waistbands, etc)
A dark t-shirt if you plan on taking any messy games or water games track While at Ministry Sites, we as that students and adults:
Wear closed-toe and closed-heel shoes and no sleeveless shirts on Ministry Site We invite you to join us as leaders in monitoring your group to ensure they are dressing appropriately.

What will accommodations be like?
This depends on the location your group will be attending. The majority of locations are 2-4 bedroom dorm rooms with shared bathrooms or bath on the hall.

What do I need to bring to registration at camp?
Two notarized copies of the camp medical release form for each student. Make sure to keep two separate groups of these forms. One will be given to the camp director and you will keep the other. You will also need to bring your completed Registration Checklist.

What do I need to bring to camp?
Linens, towels, pillows, clothes to wear to ministry site, clothes to wear to worship, Bible, toiletries, sunscreen, camera, spending money for snacks, FUGE gear, and the missions offering.

What should my students not bring to camp?
Alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, fireworks, any kind of weapon, radios, portable CD players, MP3 players, iPods, water guns, water balloons, skateboards, and rollerblades (this includes "Wheelies").

Will all of my students be in the same ministry track group?
No, they will be assigned to the tracks they sign up for, so they will be mixed in with students from other groups.

Can we find out about the ministry projects we will be working with prior to our arrival at camp? Yes, the best way would be contact the site director after May 31 at the number provided as the camp contact number in the group leader info.

Can we bring things such as bags of clothes, soap, canned food, etc to camp to give to the ministry sites?
Absolutely.

Are there ways for us to continue to give and invest in the ministry sites once our week of camp is over?
Yes, the site director will be able to give you contact info for the sites you wish.

What Ministry Tracks are offered at M-Fuge?
Here are the tracks that are offered at M-Fuge Camp. (Due to the nature of community ministry, many sites will be located in inner city areas)
Children’s Ministry Track
This is ministry through vacation bible school, day camps, and daycares.
Games and Recreation Ministry Track (GAR) –
This is ministry in apartment complexes, YMCAs, boys and girls clubs, and day camps doing sports ministry working with both elderly and children.
Social Ministry Track –
This is ministry in homeless shelters, food banks, and thrift stores.
Painting Construction and Yarkwork Ministry Track (PCY) –
This is ministry doing painting, construction and yardwork with homes and organizations.
Creative Ministry Track –
This is ministry doing puppets, skits and drama in day camps and nursing homes.
