Luke 22.54-62 - Starting Life Over

Intro: Some of us have messed up badyly, but we serve a forgiving God. Peter denied Christ 3 times, and he was forgiven.

v. 54 Peter followed Jesus at a distance
vv. 55-6 The World Watches
vv. 57-8, 60 Jesus was denied
v. 61 Jesus' Look Broke Peter
v. 62 Peter Responds with Weeping

Peter blew it! He needed to live responsibly.
What we can learn:
1. Take responsibility for your choices and sin
- Acknowledge what you have done as your fault, not others'

2. Turn in repentance
- Acknoweldge that you were wrong and turn the other way
- Change Your Mind about what you have done... this is a God thing!
- Illustration: Woman caught in adultery (Go and Sin no more, which means, Stop willfully
Sinning against God!)

3. Turn in faith to Christ (Trust Unto Restoration)
- This is NOT Self-Reformation
- God can take the worst of humanity and restore

4. Recommissioning (John 21.15-19)
- Introspection
- Denial of Self
- Death of Self
- When You Do Not Follow After Jesus, You Follow After Self!
